About TEASley
Starting my own photography business has been a dream of mine since high school. However, I always had an excuse to not do it—until now. Something about putting yourself out there for the entire world to see is daunting, nonetheless. But I heard a quote that clicked everything into place for me (funny how that happens):
“The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.” – Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
I am a native Colorado girl. I grew up in Evergreen, and though I’ve lived all over the United States, I always find myself drawn home. I spent two years out east at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, before returning to graduate from the University of Colorado in Boulder. I lived in Chicago for eight years, where I met my husband, Michael. We moved back to Denver, where we had our two daughters, Payton and Dylan. After a few years in West LA for Michael’s work, we returned to Denver once again. But in 2021, we made a big move to Sarasota, Florida—and we absolutely love it. There’s something about this place that just feels right.
Photography has had the same pull on me that Colorado always did. I have always been the friend with the camera in hand, capturing moments big and small. When I look through my photos, I love the stories they tell. A photograph can hold something that memories alone can’t. I love that unexpected look you can catch in a fleeting moment. After each shoot, there’s always that nervous excitement when I first load the images onto my computer. Did I get it? Then comes that moment of elation when I roll over a photo and think:
That’s the one.
That’s the one they will frame in their home, send to their family, or put on a card. That’s the photo they will cherish for years to come.
